Whisky Live Weekend in Macau: Tickets, Tastings and Where to Stay

Published 3 November 2026

Checked 3 November 2026. The best weekend in Macau this November is not the loudest one. A week after the Grand Prix packs up, Whisky Live & Fine Spirits Macau returns to Grand Lisboa Palace for two days, Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November 2026, running 2pm to 10pm in The Grand Hall. More than 500 whiskies and fine spirits from over 80 producers will be open to taste, the Asia Bar Show brings 16 bars from across the region into the same room, and there are masterclasses, whisky-pairing dinners and live music around the edges. It is presented by SJM Resorts with Whisky Magazine, and it lands on the one late-November weekend when Macau hotels have stopped charging race prices. Here is how to build the weekend: the tickets, the stay, and the rest of the bookings worth making around it.

The tickets: buy before 15 November

Tickets are sold through the organiser's own site, and the early-bird period runs until 15 November 2026. We checked Klook, KKday and Viator on 3 November and none of them lists the event, so the official site is the route, and we earn nothing on it. The ladder, per person for one day:

The honest steer: most people should buy the Standard or Premium pass and spend the difference at the stands. Tokens are the currency of the room, and the pours most visitors talk about afterwards are rarely the ones in the bottle packages. The packages are for collectors who already know they want that bottle; the event bottling to know about is the Ichiro's Malt & Grain single cask, limited to 232 bottles worldwide, and if that sentence excites you, you do not need our advice. Tickets are not refundable, and everyone tasting must be 18 or over.

The package maths: SJM's hotel bundles

Grand Lisboa Palace is selling three accommodation packages built around the event, from MOP 2,488++ (plus taxes and service charges), bookable until 26 November for stays on 27 and 28 November. Each covers one night at Grand Lisboa Palace with one-day event tickets for two, a tasting glass per ticket and tasting tokens; the higher tiers add an exclusive bottle, and one tier adds buffet breakfast. For a couple who would buy Premium passes anyway, price it properly: two Premium passes bought separately come to MOP 760, so the package is really charging from about MOP 1,728++ for the room, the glasses and the convenience of collecting your entry set at check-in. Against the room alone on Trip.com, where the same hotel's listing started at US$91 when we checked on 3 November, the package is not the cheap route. It is the frictionless one: no separate ticket transaction, no queue at the event desk, and the bottle tiers cannot be replicated by buying a room and passes apart. Decide which of those you are paying for before you book either.

Where to stay if you book the room separately

Grand Lisboa Palace Macau, from US$91 on Trip.com. Stay in the building. The event runs to 10pm, the tastings start at 2pm, and the single best feature a whisky weekend hotel can have is a lift between the hall and your bed. The resort also holds the Palazzo Versace and THE KARL LAGERFELD hotels in the same complex, and its own shuttle runs to the ferry terminals and the old town. At the starting rate we saw, it is also one of the cheapest five-star sleeps on Cotai this month, which settles it.

If the Palace sells out or you want a second base, stay on Cotai rather than the peninsula: the light rail and the resort shuttles make the trip to the Palace simple, and every hotel on our hotel deals page is a short ride away. The weekend after the Grand Prix is one of the softest of the season, so this is a good weekend to buy the hotel you actually want.

What else to book for the weekend

Eat at the resort before the doors open. The Grand Buffet at Grand Lisboa Palace is the sensible pre-tasting lunch: a big room, a long menu, and food in your stomach before an eight-hour tasting day. Klook sells lunch and dinner sittings from US$23.85 when we checked. Book the lunch sitting on your event day, not dinner; by the evening you will be at the stands.

Book the recovery afternoon. The Palazzo Versace spa, inside the same Grand Lisboa Palace complex, sells a combined spa and afternoon tea package on Klook at US$288.05 when we checked. Sunday afternoon, after two days of tasting, is exactly when it earns its money. Book it for the day after your event day rather than the morning of.

Give the other evening a headline. The event fills one day; if you are staying both nights, the other evening wants an anchor. House of Dancing Water at City of Dreams, a short hop across Cotai, is the city's resident big night out, with Klook tickets from US$54.95 when we checked. Check the dark nights before you fix which day you taste: the show rests on some weekdays, and our seat guide covers where to sit.

And if you are coming from Hong Kong, book the ferry both ways in the same sitting. The Taipa terminal is the close one for Cotai, the resort shuttles meet the sailings, and late-November weekend boats fill like any other event weekend. Our getting there page has the ferry and coach options wired.

The weekend, in order

Now, before 15 November: the tickets, while the early-bird period is open. Then the room, in the Palace if the rate still starts where we found it, on a rate you can cancel. Two weeks out: the Grand Buffet lunch for your event day, the spa package for the day after, and the show for the spare evening. On the day: eat first, arrive for the 2pm opening, work the masterclass list before the rare stands, and keep the last hour for the Asia Bar Show bars rather than one more token round. It is a better weekend than the one where you do it the other way round.

Questions

When is Whisky Live Macau 2026?

Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November 2026, 2pm to 10pm each day, in The Grand Hall at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau. It is presented by SJM Resorts and Whisky Magazine.

How much are tickets, and when does the early bird end?

The organiser lists the one-day Standard pass at MOP 240 and the Premium pass at MOP 380, with bottle packages at MOP 620, MOP 1,400 and MOP 2,880. The early-bird period runs until 15 November 2026. Tickets are sold on the organiser's site and are not refundable.

Can I buy tickets on Klook or Viator?

Not when we checked on 3 November 2026. Neither Klook, KKday nor Viator listed the event. The organiser also names local channels (mPass, mFood and others) alongside its own site. Buy through the official site to be sure of the ticket tier and the tokens.

Is the hotel package worth it?

For convenience and for the bottle tiers, it can be. On room price alone, no: the same hotel's rooms on Trip.com started at US$91 when we checked, well below what the package implies for the room once two Premium passes are accounted for. Price both before you book.

Do these links earn you a commission?

Some do and some do not, and each button says which. The event ticket and hotel package links go to the official sites and earn us nothing. The Trip.com and Klook links carry our partner IDs and may earn us a commission, disclosed on the button as always.

Event details, ticket prices and package terms from the organiser, Whisky Live & Fine Spirits Macau (whiskylivehkmacau.com), and Grand Lisboa Palace's official offers page, checked 3 November 2026. Hotel and product starting rates from the Trip.com and Klook listings, checked the same day. Rates and availability move; the live listing for your dates is the one that counts.
