Ferry + hotel packages for Macau: when the bundle actually beats booking separately
Published 24 October 2026
There are three ways to buy the same Hong Kong to Macau weekend: a package that bundles the hotel with return ferry tickets, the ferry and the room booked separately, or the bridge bus plus a room. Packages look like the lazy option, and sometimes they are the cheap one too. We priced all three routes on 24 October 2026. The short answer: the bundle wins at a short list of hotels, if you can live with its terms. For Cotai, and for anyone who wants a specific sailing, booking separately is the only real option.

From HK$554 per person, checked 24 October 2026; live price at checkout. No cancellations or refunds: read the small print below first.
The three routes, in brief
- The package. KKday bundles a one-night hotel stay with two round-trip TurboJET tickets, priced per person. The hotels are a short list: Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau, Grand Coloane Resort, Hotel Royal Macau and Hotel Sintra. One payment, and stricter terms than either part booked alone.
- Separately. Ferry tickets through the usual booking buttons (TurboJET to the Outer Harbour for the Peninsula, Cotai Water Jet to Taipa for Cotai), and the room on Trip.com. More moving parts, but you choose your sailing, class and cancellation terms.
- Bridge bus + hotel. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge shuttle costs HK$65 by day and HK$70 overnight, runs 24 hours, and undercuts every ferry. The room is booked separately as above; details in our Hong Kong to Macau guide.
Worked example 1: Artyzen Grand Lapa, two people, one night
Artyzen Grand Lapa, the peninsula resort hotel by the Grand Prix circuit, is the package hotel with the clearest pricing. All figures are starting prices checked 24 October 2026, for two adults travelling together.
- The bundle: from HK$1,108 for two. KKday lists the package from HK$554 per person: a Deluxe Twin Room for one night plus two round-trip TurboJET standard class ferry tickets, valid day and night. The price includes the room's tax and 10% service fee, per KKday's own includes list. Breakfast is not included.
- The ferry alone: HK$848 for two. At the official tariff (April 2026), a TurboJET economy weekend day sailing is HK$212, so a return for two is HK$212 × 2 sailings × 2 people = HK$848. Weekday sailings are HK$194, night sailings HK$242.
- The room alone: from US$70 a night. Artyzen Grand Lapa on Trip.com starts at US$70 a night, about HK$550, before the taxes and service charge added at checkout.
So the same trip bought separately starts at about HK$1,398 (HK$848 of ferry plus about HK$550 of room), against HK$1,108 for the bundle: about HK$290 less, on starting prices. The maths inside the bundle is more striking still. Take the HK$848 of ferry value out of the HK$1,108 and the room night is effectively costing HK$260, with its tax and service already in. The ferry seats are the expensive part of a Macau weekend, and the bundle prices them as if they were not.
Two honest caveats. First, both sides are starting prices, the cheapest dates on each calendar; your Saturday will cost more on both routes, and the gap can shrink or vanish. Second, the bundle price is not final when you pay: KKday confirms the room rate afterwards and may charge a difference. Compare checkout totals, not headlines.

Worked example 2: The Parisian Macao, where there is no bundle
Try the same exercise for a Cotai resort and the package route disappears. We checked KKday, Trip.com and Klook on 24 October 2026: none of them sells a ferry + hotel bundle for The Parisian, The Venetian or the other Cotai resorts. For Cotai, you build the trip yourself, and the only real choice is ferry or bus:
- The room: The Parisian Macao on Trip.com starts at US$117 a night, about HK$918, before checkout taxes.
- By ferry: Cotai Water Jet, Cotai Class, weekend day sailing HK$209 at the official tariff. Return for two: HK$209 × 4 = HK$836. Trip total from about HK$1,754.
- By bridge bus: HK$65 per person each way in daytime. Return for two: HK$260. Trip total from about HK$1,178, which is HK$576 less than the ferry version of the same trip.
The bus saving is real, but it buys a different journey. The ferry lands at Taipa Ferry Terminal, minutes from the Strip, where the hotel shuttles wait. The bus lands at the Macau bridge port, and you continue by hotel shuttle, public bus or taxi. The bus runs all night, keeps running in weather that stops the ferries, and suits airport or Lantau starts; from Sheung Wan or Tsim Sha Tsui with luggage, the ferry is the calmer trip. Our Macau ferry guide has the terminals and timetables.

The small print that decides it
- Your sailing is assigned, not chosen. You pick a time window; the system books a sailing inside it. You cannot specify the exact ferry, and KKday will not accept a cancellation because the assigned sailing does not suit you.
- Both travellers sail together. The two tickets are for the same sailings, out and back. One flying home and one staying on breaks the deal.
- Nothing is refundable. Once the order is completed it cannot be cancelled, amended or refunded. A separately booked room can often be cancelled free up to a deadline; a bundle cannot.
- The price can move after you pay. Room rates need a second confirmation, and the terms allow a price difference to be charged. Hotel vouchers are issued within 3 to 5 working days, so last-minute bookings are a gamble.
- Class is fixed. The bundled tickets are TurboJET standard class. Booking separately lets you buy Super Class (HK$406 to HK$460 at the official tariff) or Cotai First, and mix classes each way. One small bundle plus: its tickets are valid day and night at no extra fare, where a separate night sailing costs HK$242.
- Taxes are treated differently. The bundle price already includes the room tax and service fee. Hotel starting prices on Trip.com are quoted before checkout taxes. Comparing a bundle headline against a room-only headline understates the room's real cost.
- Peak dates are carved out. Some packages exclude the biggest dates: the Grand Coloane terms bar the Grand Prix period (19 to 22 November 2026). If your trip is the big weekend, book separately, and book early.
Verdict: when each route wins
Take the bundle if your hotel is on KKday's short list, you are two people on fixed dates, an assigned sailing inside a window you choose is good enough, and the confirmed checkout total still beats the separate build. Run the check yourself: official ferry returns for your dates, plus the room's checkout total, against the bundle total. If the bundle is not cheaper after that, it is just less flexible.
Book separately if you are staying in Cotai, travelling solo (bundle prices assume two sharing), want a named sailing or a better class, need a refundable room, or are collecting hotel loyalty credit.
Add the bridge bus when the crossing is all you are pricing: at HK$65 against HK$209 a leg, it saves two people HK$576 on a return, every time, at the cost of the onward hop from the bridge port. For a one-night trip where the hotel is the spend, that saving is often the difference between the standard room and the better one.

Ferry + hotel package FAQ
Is a ferry + hotel package cheaper than booking separately?
Sometimes. On starting prices checked 24 October 2026, KKday's Artyzen Grand Lapa package (one night plus two return TurboJET tickets) starts at HK$1,108 for two, while the same pieces start at about HK$1,398 bought separately. It holds only if your date prices near the starting price at checkout, so compare final totals, not headlines.
Which Macau hotels have ferry packages?
The KKday hotel + TurboJET bundles found on 24 October 2026 cover Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau, Grand Coloane Resort, Hotel Royal Macau and Hotel Sintra. No Cotai Strip resort had a ferry bundle on KKday, Trip.com or Klook that day; for Cotai, book the ferry and room separately.
Can I choose my ferry time with a package?
No. With the KKday packages you pick a time window and the system books a sailing inside it; you cannot specify the exact sailing, and both travellers must travel together on the same sailings. If the assigned sailing does not suit you, the order still cannot be cancelled or changed.
Are the KKday ferry packages refundable?
No. Once the order is completed it cannot be cancelled, amended or refunded. Room rates also need a second confirmation after booking, and a price difference may be payable if the confirmed rate differs.
Is the bridge bus cheaper than the ferry?
Yes, on the crossing itself. The Hong Kong to Macau bridge shuttle costs HK$65 in daytime (HK$70 overnight), against HK$209 for a weekend Cotai Class ferry leg. For two people returning, that is HK$260 against HK$836. The bus lands at the Macau bridge port rather than a ferry terminal, so allow for the onward hop to your hotel.
